Day 1: Lima – Cusco – City Tour

Arrival to Cusco in the morning, reception and transfer to the Hotel.
At 13:30 pm. We will begin by visiting Coricancha, the ancient Incan temple of the Sun. Next we
will visit nearby sites such as Sacsahuaman, Qenqo, Tambomachay and Puca Pucara
(Quechua for red fortress). finishing the tour around 5:30 hrs. Overnight in Cusco.

Day 2: Machupicchu

In the morning we will take train ride at 6:00 am on the Vista dome train that is very comfortable
and has glass ceilings to really enjoy the Andes arriving in Aguas Calientes around 10:00 am
After that we will take a 20-minute bus ride to the Citadel of Machu Picchu, then immediately
begin a complete guided tour of the Inca citadel that will take approximately two hours. You will
then have free time to walk around, climb the Huaynapicchu Mountain, where one can experience
spectacular views of all of Machu Picchu, the valleys and mountains that surround it, or visit the
Temple of the Moon and the fabulous Inca Bridge
In the afternoon we return to Aguas Calientes. At 4:30 pm we will board the train for our return
trip to Cusco arriving back at the hotel around 9:00 pm. Overnight in Cusco. (B)

Day 3: Cusco – Puno

Tourist bus to the city of Puno passing through and visiting such places as Andahuaylillas
known as the Peruvian Sistine chapel; Urcos- where they celebrate the birth of Inca Huascar, the
last emperor of Cusco; Raqchi- the temple or palace of Wiracocha, the white bearded God;
Sicuani- capital of this province and where we will have lunch; La Raya- Line between the
departments of Cusco and Puno also where the Vilcanota, the sacred river of the Incas begins.
Pucara- remains of an Incan temple and where the sacred bulls of Pucara are crafted.Overnight in

Day 4: Los Uros – Taquile Island

This will be one of your special days of the trip. Early transfer to the port for your boat ride on Lake
Titicaca, the highest commercially navigable lake in the world. We will first visit Los Uros and their
floating islands, which are made of reeds and inhabited by the Uros people, which live on these
islands of reeds, called Totora. We will walk on the floating islands and take a short ride on their
boats, made entirely from these same reeds. After that we will continue on Lake Titicaca to the
island of Taquile on which there are numerous pre-Inca and Inca ruins and Inca terracing.
Members of this community receive visitors in their colorful national costumes and show them
around the island. There is a cooperative shop on the island that sells exceptional woolen goods
which are not cheap but of very fine quality. Return to our hotel in Puno. Overnight in Puno. (B,

Day 5: Puno – Arequipa

…am. Transfer at the station to travel to Arequipa on bus (Duration: 5 hours).
Upon arrival to Arequipa, you will be met and transferred to the hotel in order for you to rest, after
a few hours we will start with the city tour around Arequipa including the Convent of Santa
Catalina: A cloistered convent built in 1580 and was enlarged in the 17th century. The over
20,000-square-meter monastery is predominantly of the Mudejar style, and is characterised by the
vividly painted walls. There are approximately 20 nuns currently living in the northern corner of
the complex; the rest of the monastery is open to the public. We will also visit Main Square ,
Compania of Jesus, Cayma and Yanahuara, with a magnificent view of Volcano “El Misti”.

Day 6: Arequipa – Colca Valley

Early departure towards the highlands passing through Yura-Pampa Cañahuas and La Pulpera
with good possibility of observing groups of wild vicuñas and fighting cattle. Stop en route to see
petrogliphs in the Caves of Mollepunco and in the town of Callali to see natural hill formations
with the appearance of enchanted castles. Drive to La Calera to enjoy the thermal baths under the
stars. Return to Chivay for overnight. (B)

Day 7: Cruz del Condor

To maximize your probability of seeing condors we depart very early towards the “Cross of the
Condor” at about an altitude of 15,000 feet. Drive a little further in to the canyon to see some pre-
Inca ruins and watch the way of life in this remote land. Return to Chivay for lunch and afternoon
return to Arequipa. Overnight in Arequipa. (B)

Day 8: Arequipa – Lima

Transfer at the airport to catch your flight to Lima where we’ll spend the day seeing some
interesting sites. Lima may not be the highlight of the tour, but there are some very important
things to see. Founded by Pizarro in the 1500’s, Lima is the American continent’s oldest
European-founded city. We’ll see the interesting Plaza de Armas, 500 year old Francisco Church
and more. We’ll also see Lima’s newest attraction: The Water Fountain Park. We then return to
the airport for our overnight flight home. (B)
