Choquequirao 4 Days / 3 Nights

CHOQUEQUIRAO 4 DAYS, TOURS IN CUSCO

It is situated in the vicinity of Mount Salkantay (3035 m) surrounded by the snowcapped peaks of Yanama, Ampay, Choquetacarpu and Pumasillo. Located right beside the river Santa Teresa province of Apurimac. Choquequirao is an Inca town formed by small web sites out has an adjoining building a metropolis similar to those in other regions, called by the same name of Choquequirao.

ITINERARY

DAY 01: CUSCO - CACHORA - COCAMASANA - BEACH ROASALINA

Pick up from hotel at 4:00 and then go towards Cachora. Reaching an approximate 7.30am People of Cachora. After breakfast we get ready our equipment on mules and horses before starting our hike. After 2 hours of walking we Capuliyoc (2915 m) from where we have a beautiful sight as the peaks and snowy Padrayoc, Wayna Cachora and early views on the Apurimac valley. Then descend toward Coca Masana (2330 m) where the climate becomes noticeably warmer, the flora and fauna begin to change. Finally we arrive at Playa Rosalina (1550 masl) located across the Apurimac River where we will settle and camp for the night.

DAY 02: ROSALINA BEACH - CHOQUEQUIRAO

This day is the hardest of the 5 days. After an early breakfast we start with a fairly steep path for about 5 hours Raqaypata reaching this side of the river where we Chunchullumayo lunch. Throughout the walk we will see a variety of orchids, wild flowers and many birds. From Raqaypata to Choquequirao (3035 m) close to 2 hours walk to the archaeological site of Choquequirao and where we will have the opportunity to observe the entrance of the sun and the flight of the condor. Our camp will be outside the ruins.

DAY 03: CHOQUEQUIRAO - RAQAYPATA

Today we turn to explore the ruins of Choquequirao. Our guide explained the history and importance of the site. After you have free time to visit different parts of the archaeological complex. In the afternoon we begin our trek to Raqaypata. And camp where we will settle for the nigh

DAY 04: RAQAYPATA - CHIKISCA

After breakfast we continue our trek back down a steep road towards the Apurimac River where we stop and have lunch. In the afternoon we will climb about 4 hours to arrive at Coca Masana. Camping sites.

DAY 05: CHIKISCA - CACHORA - CUSCO

The day after walking can appreciate the canyon that forms the Apurimac River. Then we will take a new road that crosses the throat of the ravine, where we will have a breathtaking view from Wayna Qalli toward the canyon, considered the most spectacular in South America. At Cachora board our bus to return to the city of Cusco.
